Baking soda face mask benefits

When we think of skin care remedies that include organic ingredients, we can’t ignore one of the major kitchen parts and parcels: Baking Powder!

This Chemical compound that goes by the name of Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3) does not only have its uses in a chemical lab but its benefits have made its way into our kitchens as edible and vanity cabinets due to its extra ordinary skin care properties.

Baking Soda or Sodium Bicarbonate is alkaline in nature and hence, balances the pH levels of skin. The pH level of your skin refers to how acidic or alkaline your skin is. The neutral pH level is 7, for water. Anything below this is acidic in nature and above 7 is considered alkaline.

In order to provide protection against bacteria, our skin’s acid mantle usually stays slightly acidic.
